A major project in Morocco, the Rabat-Salé tramway, built by Colas Rail with GTR, has been in service since May 2011.
The two-line network stretches over nearly 20 km, three kilometres of which are common to both lines. The trams serve a population of 400,000 and transport up to 170,000 passengers a day. With stops every 500 metres and a total of 31 stations, many of the city’s major sites and facilities are now accessible by tram.
