In 2021, the daily life of the inhabitants of the Paris region will change with the commissioning of the tramway line 9.

Indeed, this project aims to de-clutter existing lines, especially the bus line 183, known as being one of the busiest bus lines in the area. The tram will replace part of the route of this famous bus lineto best meet the needs of its users:t will only take 30 minutes from Paris-Porte de Choisy (13th district) to reach the city of Orly. With 19 stations located 550 meters from each other, the line will run throughsix cities (Paris, Ivry-sur-Seine, Vitry-sur-Seine, Thiais, Choisy-le-Roi and Orly).

Île-de-France Mobilités entrusted Colas Rail with the construction of the rail track and the installation of surfacing. An innovative track laying technique, developed by Colas Rail and already used on other construction sites – notably on the Angers and the T13 tramways – is being implemented on the T9: the Green Track. This technique allows improved water management, which results in better lawn resistance and a reduction in watering needs. This also leads to lower costs in terms of maintenance and savings in materials.

The works will be carried out between 2018 and 2020 and involve more than 100 employees.
