Jean-François MONTEILS, who was appointed Chairman of the Société du Grand Paris on March 22nd, visited a site of the Grand Paris Express project for the first time. Colas Rail was pleased to welcome the new Chairman of the Société du Grand Paris, who was there along with Hervé LE JOLIFF, Chief Executive Officer of Colas Rail, and Marie VANNIEUWENHUYSE, Works Director of the project.

At Noisy-Champs, Colas Rail (project leader) and Alstom are performing the equipment of the tunnel, which will be the future terminus of line 15. Thus far, this work area is the area of the Grand Paris Express project where the most progress has been made. This new Noisy-Champs station is indeed the first area where the laying of the track and installation of the rigid catenary have been completed, and the station will now soon be fully finished. This area will be used for turning and storing trains.

Hervé LE JOLIFF, who attended the visit, said: “For Colas Rail, being part of the Grand Paris Express project is a true source of pride. Our teams will continue to work on this project for several years to come in order to meet the schedule set by our client. The laying of the first rails of the Grand Paris Express project is a new step forward.

Above ground, around the prototype of the line 15’s tunnel, Marie VANNIEUWENHUYSE, Works Director, explained the equipment choices that were made to the new Chairman of the Board. This demonstration gave the new Chairman a better understanding of the specificities of this urban railway project.
