Colas Rail Polska, a subsidiary of Colas Rail in Poland, was selected by PKP PLK SA, the infrastructure manager of the Polish rail network, to upgrade a 8.5 km section of the E59 line between Slonice and Choszczno in the north of the country.

The project includes a complete overhaul of the railway, as well as road building, civil engineering, electrification and drainage.

The contract is worth a total of 43 million euros.

As Jean-François Milleron, Colas Rail’s Manager for Europe, underlines: “The E59 line project is a new step forward in Colas Rail Polska’s development and confirms the expertise of this young subsidiary, created in 2013.”

Colas Rail Polska had already won a contract from PKP PLK S.A pertaining to the track and overhead lines in the main railway station in Poznan. The Colas Rail subsidiary also performs other projects in the country, such as the renovation and expansion of the Gdynia port rail access as well as the
construction of tracks for an intermodal logistics center in Swarzedz.
