On track for an inclusive future in rail

On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2022 focusing on the theme Break the bias, Colas Rail wanted to get involved, once again, by organising a round table to discuss technical & inspiring careers. Our commitment? To be part of a collective dynamic to act in favour of diversity and inclusion, a challenge carried out daily by all of our teams. This event aimed to inspire our employees, to share real life experiences, to show that our technical activities can be accessible to everyone and above all, that with us, everything is possible.

Together, let’s break the bias
Colas Rail celebrated yesterday during the first edition of its event, its employees.

A day to place diversity and inclusion as the central pillar and major challenge of a more inclusive HR policy, where the women and men of Colas Rail can flourish professionally in their daily lives.

This round table therefore brought together different profiles:

  • Aude Rio, Colas Rail Technical & Engineering Director
  • Fabienne Viala, Chairman of Bouygues and Bouygues Energy & Services UK, Director of Bouygues Construction UK
  • Ibtissam Bensaadout, Colas Rail Chile Project Manager
  • Christophe Mansuy, Colas Rail International Managing Director
  • David McCann, UK Project Lead
  • Richard Ballantine, Network Rail Financial Controller

SSeveral subjects were then able to be discussed and addressed directly to our speakers such as:

  • What are the upcoming business trends for the railway industry?
  • What are our needs and the target countries for which we recruit?
  • What is the added value of promoting diversity & inclusion within our teams and our sites in order to achieve our business ambitions?
  • What behaviours should be banned today?
  • What are the expectations of our clients in terms of diversity and inclusion, why?

Through these actions, Colas Rail confirms its desire to promote diversity and inclusion within the entire company. By the end of the year, we hope to achieve a +10% female managers & staff rate. But also, to increase our HR index, which in 2021 was 83/100. And finally, to increase the employment rate of people with disabilities by 25%.

If you too are committed to professional diversity, and for you, joining a company that encourages women and men from all walks of life to join the railway sector is synonymous with purpose and change, then… check out our available positions: https: //colasrail.com/drivenby/
