Nîmes – Montpellier bypass

This high-speed line includes 80 km of new line, 60 km of which run at high speed between Manduel, a town in the Gard department east of Nîmes, and Lattes, a municipality in Hérault south-east of Montpellier.

This is the first combined goods and passenger line in France. It is a technical feat that significantly improves service quality for passengers, with the development of regional trains and improved access to regional cities through its high speed service.

The aim of the project also includes improving the performance of goods transport particularly to Spain, but also to Italy and Northern Europe.

This large-scale project lasted 4 years, in which Colas Rail teams installed tracks and overhead lines, positioning Colas Rail at the core of the European rail sector.
