• Colas Rail Deutschland originated from the acquisition of 100% of the shares of the Hasselmann Group by Colas Rail in October 2022.
• Established in 1998, the group is based in Thuringia and specialises in railway construction and rail infrastructure.

This acquisition has positioned Colas Rail on the German market, confirming its external growth strategy targeting countries with stable economies and high potential for rail infrastructure investment.

The Hasselmann family group consists of three companies:

• Hasselmann GmbH (railway infrastructure)
• NTG Bau GmbH (track construction), and
• LGM Logistikgesellschaft mbH (rail safety)
• To date, they employ nearly 300 people and achieved a turnover of 70 million euros in 2021.

These three companies primarily operate on conventional railway lines in the central German regions spanning from Hesse to Saxony and work mainly for Deutsche Bahn.
