East european high-speed line

This high-speed line is the largest railway engineering project of the first few years of this century and is the fastest line in France with a commercial speed of 320 km/hour, i.e. 20 km/hour more than the other high-speed lines.

On this project Colas Rail handled the track-laying work from Châlons in Champagne to Baudrecourt – 350 km of track – and 122 km of overhead lines. The “island method” invented by Colas Rail, with works trains supplying rails, sleepers and ballast, was used for these works.
