Presentation of the subsidiary

Colas Rail UK is a leading provider of railway infrastructure services focusing on building and renewing all forms of railways and on freight and rolling stock throughout the UK.

    History of the subsidiary

Colas Rail resulted from the merger of two companies acquired by Colas Group. The merger brought together two of Europe’s major players in the railway sector and pooled their skills within one entity. Colas Rail UK was formed in 2007, firstly renovating tracks in the Western region in 2008, before entering the rolling stock market in 2009 and purchasing new tamping machines in 2010. After being awarded our first Network Rail Haulage contract in 2013, we have gone from strength to strength delivering major track infrastructure projects for Network Rail and the Midland Metro Alliance contract in Birmingham.
