Antwerp’s main railway station is managed by Infrabel, which runs the Belgian railway network. Since March 2007, work in the station and the reorganisation of tracks on three levels has allowed for the creation of a direct link to the Netherlands, via a railway tunnel under the station and the city. (Until this project, the station had been a dead end).
Colas Rail Belgium was entrusted with the modernisation of the station, which was linked to the passage of the Brussels – Amsterdam High-Speed Line. It has notably been in charge of adapting the overhead lines to the –1 and – 2 levels.
