East european high-speed line

In detail

Location

Châlons in Champagne, Baudrecourt

This high-speed line, the biggest railway engineering project of the first few years of this century, is the fastest line in France, with a commercial speed of 320 km/hour, i.e. 20 km/hour more than the other high-speed lines.
Colas Rail handled the track-laying work from Châlons in Champagne to Baudrecourt – 350 km of track – and 122 km of overhead lines. The “island method”, invented by Colas Rail, with the supply (by works trains) of rails, sleepers and ballast, was used for these works.
