Colas Rail was awarded three contracts of renewal and maintenance of rail network in France and in the UK

Colas Rail, subsidiary of Colas, won in alliance with TSO (subsidiary of NGE) two maintenance contracts for the French rail network by SNCF Réseau for an amount of approximately 300 million euros:

  • the first contract, for a three-year period with an option of two additional years, concerns the renewal of ballast on 374km of tracks, crossings on 160 km of tracks for four high-speed lines (LGV North, LGV Atlantique, LGV Paris Sud-Est and LGV Méditerranée).
  • the second contract concerns the regeneration of catenaries over the entire national rail network, for a five-year period with an option of two additional years. On this occasion, the alliance proposed an innovation to industrialize the work process through the implementation of specific trains

Furthermore, Colas Rail Ltd, a British subsidiary of Colas Rail, has been awarded a seven-year track maintenance contract by Network Rail. This contract, with a total value of 225 million pounds (255 million euros), consist of the provision, operation and maintenance of heavy railway equipment. In addition of its current fleet of machines, Colas Rail Ltd will invest in high-performance machines that will allow Network Rail to improve its service to United Kingdom rail operators. Present for many years in the maintenance market of the British rail, Colas Rail Ltd already held a similar seven-year contract.
