Colas Rail has won two contracts to build the southern extension of Line 2 of the Santiago de Chile metro

Colas Rail successively won two contracts to build the southern expansion of Line 2 of the Santiago de Chile metro, for a length of 5.1 km in tunnel.

  • The first was obtained at the end of last July by the Colas Rail (agent) and ETF. It includes the supply and installation of rail tracks and third rail, the expansion of a maintenance depot for a total amount of 36 million euros.
  • The second was attributed to Colas Rail by the Metro de Santiago SA company concerns the electrification batch for an amount of 20 million euros. It includes studies, supply, assembly, testing and commissioning of the extension and depot electrification systems, as well as maintenance for five years.
    The project will take place over a three year-period.

With these two new contracts, Colas Rail consolidates its presence on the Santiago de Chile metro. After the construction of lines 3 and 6 delivered in 2017 and 2018, Colas Rail is currently carrying out maintenance of all tracks of the Santiago metro network, ie 140 km of line.
