Today is Women’s Day! On this occasion, meet Ibtissam BENSAADOUT, deputy project manager on line 2 of the Santiago Metro, who tells us more about her international mobility, from Colas Rail Morocco to Colas Rail Chile.

“I arrived a month and a half ago in Chile, which is a country I didn’t really know about before I moved there! I was pleasantly surprised by the living conditions in Santiago. It is a very cosmopolitan city where many nationalities are represented.

I had the chance to meet again the project manager Mathieu Calvez, with whom I worked for more than two years on the Casablanca tramway. Also, I had the pleasure to speak the Moroccan dialect with the crew of the tamping machine, who came here in October 2019. Furthermore, I was warmly welcomed by the Colas Rail Chile team!

It allowed me not to feel completely disoriented. The hardest part for me is not really switching from the aerial tramway to the underground metro, but above all having to speak a fourth language * every day. Nevertheless, I made it a challenge more than an obstacle and it enabled me to integrate very easily with everybody on the project, ranging from office and site staff to the final customer Metro de Santiago.

Thank you to Colas Rail, for allowing me to live this enriching experience, both professionally and personally! ”
