Line 1 is the first stage of the project and links the French frontier to Brussels. Line 2 links Brussels and Liège and, finally, Line 3 runs from Liège to the German border.
For the works on lines 1 and 2, the “island method” invented by Colas Rail was used, with works trains supplying rails, sleepers and ballast.
